My new Laptop came pre-loaded with something called SKYPE. It is an Internet telephone system with video (if you have the video). Supposedly it is totally free if you use your computer with Skype to talked to someone else who is on a Skype computer; however, you can also call cellphones and landline numbers for a "small fee". I am not sure if it is any use to me as no one that I email has ever asked if I have Skype, so eather no one else has it or no one wants to talk to me.
Just wondering if anyone has used this and, if so, what is you opinion/comments.
Thanks in advance,
Grumpy
We use it for the video. My daughter can show things to her grandparents, and 'see' her cousins who live 250 miles away. It's also great for seeing new babies without the wife making you take a road trip. The video is not full motion, but the images are pretty good. Cameras are pretty cheap, and the software is free.
