i was out on laurel last night fishin up around hightop adn there was about 5 teenage kids swimming about past the bouys at the high top boat ramp at night with no lifejackets and no lights i could just hear themand barely see them in what little moon was reflecting off the water and they seemed to be drinkin a bit since i heard dont get water in the beam on several occasions... i looked around and there was still people running everywheres like idiots... we left there and went over to spruce creek then i also seen a guy go up in spruce creek doing everybit of 70 at about 1 am and it almost to foggy to distinguish the treeline with the sky turn around and whip right in front of us about 50 yards in front of us... but it was about 2 or so... so i just picked up the ole trolling motor and we headed on in.... i figure if someone is ignorant enough to risk there life at such a high rate of speed on a foggy night then they can have it... i mean it was laurel lake so there wasnt much catchin goin on...and its pretty narrow at the mouth of spruce creek but i did have a brown fish go 18 inches on a jig..and we caught 5 others next biggest was a 14 inch greenfish.... OH yeah and i so cannot wait to get that conservation officer job.... cause i am going to just cruise the lake at night and watch lights click on on boats then i am going to give them a boating safety reminder... at night i usually get on pad and then hold it there aint no sense in goin no faster.... we ran from the mouth of spruce and back to grove... which is about 1 mile or so... i seen probably 4 or 5 boat lights come on as i was going down the lake... it was like i was setting off motion lights..... BUT back to elnuts comment.... i looked down at the ole timex prior to pulling up the trolling motor to leave and told dad.... a little over 5 months till this water is about 35 degrees cooler and we will be jiggling that bobber waiting on them big brown monsters that patrol the haunts of dale, laurel and cland.......
