    Lamiglas Rods

I've recently been introduced to Lamiglas. This is the best rod I've ever used. A friend makes his own rods with Lamiglas blanks and the are sweet!! I would like to know where in central Ky that I can find them. Expensive rods for sure but they have a great warranty. Seems to be a very popular rod in the western U.S.

    comments, pro and con, appreciated.

    Re: Lamiglas Rods

I've heard many great things about Lamiglas, especially in their crankbait lines. Also heard that fiberglass rods are by far the best to use for cranking, but that they are heavy as well.

I wish I had some input for you, but I have never had the privilege to fish one. What model(s) do you own, and are they as heavy as critics make them out to be?

Skeet Reese seems to do well with them.

will be buying a couple in the XMG - 50 series. Probaly a rod for pitchin and worming.

May look at the fiberglass for cranking. hopefully I can find them in a store in Ky. to hold in my hand.

Just an FYI.....Skeet is no longer with Lamiglas. He is now sponsored by Eagle Claw. I think his new signature series will be coming out at ICAST this year.

I thought one of the pro's swore by these rods? Maybe it was Fritts, I can't remember who it was now...but I believe that's what Lamiglass is noted for, mainly their crankbait rods. When I was in the market for a crankbait rod I was considering Lamiglass, but after seeing the prices on the internet and not being able to actually hold one and check it out first hand I dedcided to put Lamiglass on the back burner. Then another member here put me onto BPS Crankin' Sticks and I'm pretty happy with that rod.

He was using them at Lake Guntersville weeks ago. They (Bassmasters TV) showed him several times cranking ledges and humps with one in hand.

Lamiglas has a pretty good reputation with surf casters. The surf rods that I've used by them have done well for me.

I agree with you because he also still had his Lamiglas logo on his sponsor jersey during the KY lake tournament. I'm not sure when the changes takes effect. I would think as soon as the announcement was made. He's probably using the prototype rods by now.
