Re: Sportsman's Warehouse at Hamburg is Closing

I have like 400 bucks worth of gift cards to that place I need to burn up before they go out. I am going to hold out and get a fish finder for the boat or a couple good rods and reels.

The thing I did not like about that place is that most of the time the people working in the fishing department had no idea about fishing. It was pretty funny to ask them a question and they would respond with "man I have no idea go ask the guy in the hunting department." The guys in the bow department were pretty good and knowlegable about most things.

I just went there this morning (Sunday 7/5). Everything is now 10-30% off.

All fishing tackle and line is 20% off. Rods and reels vary at 10-20% off. Looks like most of the guns are about 10% off. Hunting equipment is mostly 10% off, some of it is 20%. Clothing is mostly 20-30% off.

Agree with splitshot, its sad when a business goes under. You have to wonder about the corporate office doing the buying. You would think that a good manager, with experience in the region, has a better idea of what products to stock. That was my biggest beef with sportsmans: always out of the stuff that sold around here. Plenty of lures that you rarely seen people using lining the shelves. You gotta wonder why some of that stuff is even there.

Re: Sportsman's Warehouse at Hamburg is Closing

That's a shame to hear, I always enjoyed shopping there. They always seemed to have something that I couldn't find at ****'s or anywhere else. I replaced the guts of my 20+ year old Coleman latern for $20 from that place and it works like it's right out of the box. I agree, the shelves seemed to be empty most of the time, esp. in the ammo/reloading section. Kind of hard to sell something if it's not on the shelves...
