    Ignore the Timber.

    Focus on grass thats where the best fishing is these days in my opinion. You can catch fish out of timber but not like you can grass. If you do fish wood look for laydowns or tress that are different either bigger, laying slanted, or ones with extra limbs. But I dont fish timber anymore just grass and if theres timber around fine.

    Know what you mean about grass. Caught my best LM (6#) off a grass bed back in June. Nailed a spinnerbait just barely ticking the top of the grass. Main reason for hitting the timber is that I often get to the lake in the late afternoon-evening. There are some nice timber areas where the jet skis cannot mess with you. I'll have to look for some grass in those areas too.
