Took the kids on a bank fishing trip below Meldahl yesterday morning, saw about 8 or 10 other fishermen casting for hybrids, but didn't see anybody catch anything,we were slightly farther down river but still close to the dam.Managed to catch 4 largemouths (all over 15"), but released and 2 flatheads which we kept (around 4 pounders) between us,using shiners, chicken liver, and nightcrawlers.
I was tempted to fish the pool directly above the dam were all the floating trees, logs, and debris was backed up,I was curious if anybody ever fished above the dam there and had any sucess?
We stopped by the upper end of Kincaid lake on the way home and caught several small bluegills and my wife caught one flathead around 8 pounds on liver and a 1 largemouth around 2lbs on a shiner, talked to a couple bass fishermen who came by and seems like none had any luck, said they threw everything in the book at them.Plan on going back to Meldahl after the front goes threw this week, any tips on catching Hybrids/Stripers would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Glenn P.
