Not trying to hijack the post. I understand being upset about the situation. It is hard to find spots that tend to hold fish consistently as largemouth are known for being territorial fish in most Ky impoundments.
To throw in another point of view about the comparison between C&R and keeping fish. Both are considered management practices to maintain a healthy population within a fishery. Think about it, if it wasn't for the C&R folks then the creel and size limits that we experience today would not exist. If everyone kept their limits everytime on the water, populations would soon crash which would result in lower creel limts, maybe none at all until populations rebounded.
On the flip side, if everyone practiced C&R only, then populations would increase to the point of overpopulation with all the negative effects associated until managers either had to increase creel limits, change size limits, or other options in order to try to balance the populations.
I'm not taking sides in this post. I do have "my beliefs" on the subject about both practices and their importance to fisheries management. In order to stay neutral, I will stop at this last statement. Both practices are applied and considered by fisheries managers for a reason. They are the most inexpensive way to manage fish populations.
