I'm always super appreciative of tips and types of areas to fish but am a little uneasy if someone gives me exact spots.

Last April I was down in the Lake Okeechobe area fishing the rim canal when a transplant from Cadiz said hello to me. Water was very low and I was not locating fish well. He told me of a place they used 6 miles up stream. Two days later I came back to try the area he suggested to me and to my surprise here were the same guys getting ready to launch. I ask for permission to try the spot they suggested even though I launched first. They said the area covered a mile of so of water and to go for it. Well, by the time we I ran into the guys was about noon, they had zero'd and I had had a very fine morning. I noticed they were fishing a black worm that likely had done it for them two days later in low light evening conditions. I tossed them some of my shakey head worms and some heads and told them how to fish a Shakey head in clear water on a bright day. I don't know if it changed there luck but I at least tried to pay them back for telling me of the clean water they have found. Clear water in Florida is everything to catching bass.

I would not mind telling anyone about my spots or techniques if they were as sensitive as I am not to abuse the information or the person who helped me. The problem is some peopel are just fishing hacks who lack sensitivity and as a result, I usually don't share much.

On sharing info on private lakes and ponds, would not think about it for a moment and won't let guys get a good look at what I use when fishing. Too many stories of guys abusing other peoples property, taking fish and leaving trash behind.
