With the bait your using it sounds like your targeting channels. I would use shad whole or cut, skipjack or bluegill. I fish mainly the river but I'm sure the lakes are simular as far as fishing ledges and drops close to shallow areas this time of year. I find the males are shallower than the females right now so go alittle deeper for bigger fish. Hope this helps...Chuck
