Angry Does anyone Know what SOS means

I just wanted to say thanks to the JERKS on Monroe Wednesday night / Thusday Early morning. After our boat lost starting power wed night at about 11 pm we were pretty much stranded adrift on monroe near Martin Hollow. I figured that the wind would blow us to shore soon and I could at least walk somewhere.. well, it didn't happen so we ended up drifting across to fairfax at 3am. 3 boats ignored both our SOS signal and my hurricane whistle (which I know for a fact can be heard for 2 miles) one jerk thought it funny to blink back with his light and 2 boats turned out their lights, ignored us and went out of the way to pass us I KNOW YOU HEARD ME!!

I remember a time when EVERYONE on a lake was a buddy bonded by the outdoors even if you didn't know them, I would never leave anyone stranded on the water or anywhere else for that matter and I still won't.

I would like to thank the guys at Fairfax marina for the use of the charger box
and also thanks to the lady that gave us the shot of Jagermiester. Sorry we couldn't get you boat going

As posted in another thread. You should have to take a test to see if you are qualified to even launch a boat.
Many years ago when fishing Monroe in a runabout the lower unit went out and we were about 5 miles from the ramp. Dozens of boats passed us while we were paddeling. The only one who came to help was a sailboat. He had a small outboard on it and pulled us back to the ramp. There are a few good people out there.

Had the same happen to me on Brookville Lake about 10 years ago. Waving an orange flag and blowing a whistle as boats buzzed on by us. People just do not give a s%^& anymore. I agree with taking a test in order to drive a boat. Should be a restriction on your drivers license.

martin hollow is straight across from fairfax. It's just a small spot. That is what it is called on the map. we finally made it fairfax at about 3am. we ran into a bass fisherman at about 4am that offered us a ride but by then we were already docked at fairfax. The worst was over and he had been doing pretty well, he said he had several fish 3+ and there was no sense in making him stop fishing considering the marina would be open soon and we weren't drifting any longer.

We will be there again this weekend having gotten the starting system back up to par. So if ANYONE needs any help feel free to wave one of our boats down.
I (scott) and my cousin jason will be in a 19ft tan and brown Glacier open bow w/ a 150
and my friends will be in a '72 stinger bass boat butterscotch and brown (if you see it at the dock anywhere take a look at it, it was thier Grandpas boat and has been expertly maintained and garaged since he bought it new. SWEET BOAT)

we'll be ramped and camped at Hardin Ridge so if anyone needs a hand let us know

While you've bot the boat at home try rope starting. I've been able to rope start my 150. You may be surprized and it may help out if you have a low battery or starter issues. Important thing is to practice in your driveway so you know what it takes.

Had the stater go out in my boat this year that led to a drained battery. Luckily I had a pair of jumper cables in the boat and was able to cross jump off my trolling battery.

I had a friend of mine and he had a 150 johnson and we were fishing on Hardy Dam in Michigan when his battery went low. Like I said.... "I had a friend".. it killed him and I figured if it killed him it would kill me too! LOL hahaha.. No, for real we could NOT get that thing started at ALL.. it wouldn't even cough. Thank God we ended up getting a jump. Bill, gotta hand it to you.. you have bigger go-nads than I.
