I used to fish below the dam at the wickets 25 years ago but finally got enough money to buy a boat and been on the lakes ever since. Just moved back here and interested in wading below the dam again, brings back lots of memories. I walked down there the other day, parked at the park on top of the hill. Lots of fisherman right up under the railroad bridge, a few scattered down the downstream bank, and then a bunch of fisherman down at the far end. Saw folks throwing jigs, jerkbaits, live bait, etc. Any recommendations for wade fisherman? Better right at the r/r bridge area or further down? One bait over another? Any info would be helpful. Lots of times it is easier and more timely for me to just pull up and park, rather than go home, hook up the boat, etc, etc. Not particular on type of fish either, as I love to catch sauger, hybrids, cats, etc, although not much on rough fish. Saw a lot of drums being caught. Thanks guys.
