Markland has the "red-line rule" where the lock wall is marked with a red-line and you have to visually trace it to the IN shoreline and can't be closer than that (150 feet). The wardens don't hesitate to write tickets and I think they're expensive fines.
Next to the blow-out holes (where they discharge the water in the locks) there is a sign that says to stay back 300 feet but I've never seen or heard of anyone getting a ticket for fishing on top of them. Be **** careful not to be over there in especially a small boat when they do discharge or you could end up in trouble real fast. You gotta know where it's safe to throw anchor.
