top water up or down ????

It's has been slow for me too, about 3 weeks ago one morning I started fishing and within five min had one on, beside a log, about 3 lbs.. Then the very next cast another 3 lber back beside that log on a black buzz.Well the top water bite was on. I fished for 45 min with no hits. So I went to a crank and done pretty good. The next week the same thing, the first 5 min one on and that was it. Had to go too something else. Last Friday morning had one to roll at a buzz but no hookups.

Down for me to. I've got about a two week window on Cumberland in the spring at almost an exact same time that happens every year. It's as faithful you could almost set your calendar and watch by it. This year I caught a few and even a few decent ones, but it did not happen this year anything like normal, it was way off. This pattern has held true around these same few weeks for me for about 6 or seven years in a row. This year was way off. In fact I personally think the fishing in general this year is way off.

I fished topwater at Stoner yesterday and only had one blowup on the frog. He was about a pound and a half and he came off not long after I hooked him. I agree with everyone else. It has been SLOW. This spring I done horrible compared to years past on topwater baits. All my fish were deep.
