My buddy has a 1989 Johnson 150 GT - always starts, runs good, but it loves the gas and just will not idle. Over the last 10 years he's had several shops try to get it to run smooth, but none have been able to get it to do so. He's finally decided to give up, and is currently looking for a deal on a newer motor. Like Eric said, if it's old and tired, you won't be happy with it.
