Fishing in Kentucky ? Awsome ? Maybe Ky/Barkley lakes ,the rest are below average in my opinion . Go to Guntersville or most any of the Alabama lakes and catch fish all summer long . Lucky to catch any in central Ky in the summer months unless you stay with them . Just my opinion..........

This pretty much sums up my opinion created over the last 30 years. I have resorted to ponds and small lakes for the most part if I'm not going to KY/Barkley. Guntersville is the real deal but requires a different approach then does KY/Barkley. In the last year I have spent about 50% of my fishing days down in South Florida around and on Lake Okeechobee. Slowly but surely I am learning to catch fish in a variety of florida waters. The florida lakes are almost the absolute opposite experience of growing up on a mountain resevoir like Lake Cumberland. Just about the entire lake is 2-4ft deep and structure, river channels and ledges are words that are never spoken.
