Need a KY River Report

Thinking about heading to KY River Saturday, was wondering if you guys had any reports. This would be my first time there. Just looking to catch a few bass.

Where you planning on putting in at? We put in above lock 7 last Sunday and fished our way up to the Dix dam. Caught a few small (12-14inches) bass on purple worms in brush. Had two smallies follow a jerk bait in to the boat, one looked like he was in the 4 lb range, the smallies came off of rock pile banks. Water was murky but fishable, not high like it has been. Not the best report but we were trout fishing mostly, just bass fished because the big motor wouldn't turn. Ted

I have been fishing the pool below lock 7. If you can find the current, the fish are active. Water is much clearer than last weekend. Went down last night and where there is current, there is activity. Caught a few on small cranks and a 3 nice LMs (15" each) on white an chart spinnerbaits in current by current breaks-2 laydowns and a rock pile. Also caught bluegills, one big crappie and 2 drum on small crankbaits. Weekend should be better with cooler temps and I am willing to bet the topwater bite will be better with the cooler and clearer water.
