    Re: Convention of Islamics

    How about some more:

In his book, "How the Khilafah Was Destroyed," Sheikh Abdul Qadeem Zalloom, the former global leader of Hizb ut-Tahrir, says anyone who rules by a non-Islamic system should "either retract or be killed ... even if this led to several years of fighting and even if it led to the killing of millions of Muslims and to the martyrdom of millions of believers."

Hizb ut-Tahrir's official ruling on the permissibility of hijacking planes says, "If the plane belongs to a country at war with Muslims, like Israel, it is allowed to hijack it, for there is no sanctity for Israel nor for the Jews in it."

And one of the organization's more recent leaflets, published in March, calls for the declaration of "a state of war against America."

Andrew, I agree with the preceding posts. SEDITION IN WAR TIME is not a covered freedom of speech. Anyone that does not know and understand that we are at war with Islam doesn't know anything about the history of Islam.

Further, anyone that accepts the garbage that "Islam is a peaceful religion" has never considered (and maybe never heard) what Mohamed meant when he directed ALL Muslims to "convert them (the Infidels) or kill them!" By the way, THE INFIDELS--that's us and Capitalism.

Really, we are at war with all of Islam?? Wow, that's a new one. I thought it was only the extremists. You know, those wackos who attacked us on 9-11 and are responsible for a number of attacks since then in Muslim countries, including the recent one in Jakarta, Indonesia. I'm all for taking out extremists. I see no reason to lump everyone else in with them just cause of some religion. As far as some of those extremist ideas coming from the Koran, one only needs to look at the Old Testament to see similar things in Christianity. You want to condemn all Christians now too? I wouldn't.

Guys, I certainly agree with you. This group does not represent speech that we want in this country. If the conference was close by here, I might be joining you at the protest of them with a "Even Allah things you're a butthead" t-shirt on. The whole point is this:

Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The US gov't has no position to intervene in the conference, period. Likewise, you are free to protest it in a civil manner. While the group may be scary, I'm more scared of a gov't that suppresses free speech.

I also find it interesting that recently a few folks were pissed that the gov't fired a GM exec. Didn't like the fact that the gov't was interfering with private enterprise. Now you want the gov't to interfere with who the conference hotel can have as guests??
