You can't fix stupid. However, a little education might be in order.
I have always said, people who get their boat ready on a ramp either to put in or after taking out don't deserve to own one.so here is my situation i pull up to the boat ramp tonite and someone is pulling out stops on the ramp and ties dowm his runabout as im waiting another guy come up shaking his head because he is waiting to take out to so since i was by myself i told him to go on so he backs down loads up his boat and guess what yep he stops on the ramp to to tie down his boat and proceds to wipe it off, my question is why complain about someone else and then turn around and do the same even when i was nice enough to let him go head of me
I have no problem going over and askings the boobs to move.
Here's my question. Why doesn't the state mandate that all boat owners and/or operators have a license to operate a boat. It would consist of a test where courtesy, common sense items and all the rules would come into play. Apparently as I have seen and heard this is very necessary. As well, this would generate more money for the state! As a tournament fisherman that is on the water a lot I see many instances where people just simply don't know what to do and lose their common sense.
AGREE 100%. A moron on a 100 cc/300 pound motorcyle needs a license, but a guy running a 200hp, 70 mph, 2500 pound boat doesn't? What state congressional genius came up with that? And take the same moron on the motorcycle and compare him to the half-wit on a jet ski. Darn near the same vehicle weights, and motor sizes........Hey Frankfurt......WAKE UP!
And at least the motorcycle has brakes!!! I watched a girl at Taylorsville plow into a nice party boat by the ramp and right before she hit him, she was hollering "where's the brakes!!!". Turns out her boyfriend had her pull it over to the dock while he pulled the truck up and she had never been on one before. Takes all kinds.
that wont help mandate it for cars and u got idiots there to i live on a road that is 25mph and everyone drives it and swears it says 52mphHere's my question. The license mandate is coming. Since under a certain age now you do need a license. The instructors are saying the day is coming. Here's my question. i dont think having someone take a test is going to make them a better boater. look at all the idiot automobile drivers that passed the drivers test and terrorize the roads. you cant teach common sense.
