Usually pull the back straps off before getting on the ramp, but that's only if the wench is in great shape and it's not too steep. I can see someone putting the straps on b4 pulling up the hill if their wench is iffy..Idiots on the ramp is one of my big gripes. There is no one fix for all the problems. I am sure many on here do similar to what I and my friends do when we get to the ramp. Everything in the boat is ready before we leave home. We back down the ramp (Only taking one lane) stop at the waters edge, get out of the truck, take the straps off the back, lower the motor, one of us gets in the boat, back the boat down enough to unhook it then back till it floats off the trailor. Takes maybe 60 to 90 seconds and we are on our way off the ramp. Slightly different when by myself and the truck will be on the ramp maybe 4 minutes.
Anyone have other ideas on how to do this?
