heading over for first time. is it a dangerous lake to run? also if someone could give me some good places to put in. i'm coming from huntsville. thanks.

Very dangerous if you don't know where you are going, not to bad on the main river(follow the barge bouys) fishing up in the creeks well thats a different story. The lake can shallow up quick and its loaded with stumps. We usually use a close ramp and idle around. In three days of fishing we might use 3 or 4 gallons of gas, we have a few places we know where we can run and where we can't. Just idle around and watch your depth sounder. Be careful
