Besides the heavy rain,we got some strong wind (maybe straightline) that came in front of one of the late afternoon storms.Took down a few limbs, blew over my grill which is pretty heavy (first time that's ever happened),blew all the kids floats out of the pool into the next county, because we haven't found them yet.Worst of all damaged all my sweet corn which some was starting to mature, hopefully it will straighten up on it's own,but I basically lost 16 - 50' rows.
This has been the coolest, wetest summer that I can remember in my 50 years.
Been awful hard to keep my place mowed this year, fleas and ticks are bad around here this year.Good thing the old lady puts frontline between my shoulderblades.

A couple days ago the weatherman said this is the first time in the HISTORY of recording temps in KY that July didn't have 1 day over 90.........HM.

I tell ya.........we should start SERIOUSLY start cranking up the greenhouse gasses.....we NEED to keep the core warmer, or we will ALL FREEZE to death .

    Later,

    Geo

Alright I'm officially ready to Puke over rain. I have been wet to damp over the last ten days it seems like. We just gauged 3 more inches of rain here this morning, it was freaking Biblical again. If I'm doing the math right and I think I am we have had over 10'' inches of rain here in my parts this month of July. I can never remember anything like that in my whole life.

Just over the last 8 days or since last Wednesday we have had 7.5 inches of rain here. My backyard is floating, lol. Sorry for the rant but I had to vent I'm tired if being wet, please stop the rain, lol.

Growing up I always heard the older folks say that if it rained on the first day of the "Dog Days" it would rain every day of them,I'm not 100% sure what was the 1st day this year, but I'm pretty sure it rained on it.
I started digging my early potatoes yesterday and because of so much rain a few have started rotting in the ground, still got 50 lbs out of the first row,but too sloopy to dig again today. If it keeps up maybe I can start a business that coincides with Tropical Rainforest needs.

I wish I could get mine mowed. Eevery time I get the mower out of the shed it starts raining. I told my wife yesterday that this will be my final year without a riding mower, even if I have to take all of our tax money to get one lol!
