I have a Hummingbird PiranhaMax15 on my trolling motor and a Hummingbird Extreme 160 on the dash. Both units are about 7 years old and obviously, are not high end equipment but served my purpose. The 160 had been acting up for a couple of weeks giving a "simulation star-up" when initially turned on and this past week end the screen would go on and off and finally would not come on at all. The 15 appeared to freeze up and showed a constant temp and depth reading and also will not come back on. The on/off button tends to stick on both. I talked with TechTronics and they said to check fuses which I did and there may be a loose pin on the transducer wire or connector on the monitor which appears not to be the case. I think the monitors just finally quit but my question is: Does anyone have any advice on further checking or does anyone in Evansville run either of these two units and be willing to let me hook up my monitors to your connections thereby verify the monitors are shot if they will not then power up? I was hoping to do this at Gander Mountain but they do not have any Hummingbird units with my connections. Thanks.
