    Prides creek?

I remember fishing this lake when i was little and its not too far away in pike county so i thought i might spend the day there tomorrow. Short notice i know, but does anyone fish there once in a while. I was just wondering what to expect as far as water clarity, vegetation, numbers and average size of bass? I think im just wondering, is it any good.. or should i maybe go somewhere else

Be prepared. The fishing in Prides has went down badly the last couple of years. Use to be nothing to go up there and catch 50-60 fish a day and maybe get 4-5 keepers. Now your lucky to catch 10-15 fish and maybe 1 keeper. The lake is very clear, very litte to zero grass and minimum structure but only if you know where it is.

I've talked to the part managers and many others that fish this lake and they need to put a catch and release policy on this lake for 3-4 years. Many have seen some people that keep every keeper they catch and some smaller ones. This along with the lack of structure and nothing to eath has destroyed this fishery. We've discussed trying to get some people to donate to get a couple of trucks a year of fathead minnows to dump in the lake but until they make it catch and release your only going to feed what others are taking out. They are in the process of trying to remove the grass carp which have eaten all the grass in the lake and are working on have some rock piles put in later this year or next.

Thanks for the reply Charlie. I did go there last saturday but i only stayed maybe two hours tops. Just didnt like it because of the reasons you mentioned. I had a few bites and i thought i could probably catch some if i commited but it just didnt look good to me. Clear water with no grass, went over the lake with my side imaging and didnt see anything obvious.. it looked like a smallmouth habitat but not largemouth, so i just packed it up and went to another lake
