If he admitted he was wrong I commend him for that.

Well, sort of. Probably as good as you'll get from a politician. Was at least decent enough to call Crowley in person and talk with him for a bit.
"At an impromptu appearance at the daily White House briefing, Obama said he spoke with Crowley over the phone, and said he wanted to share a beer with Crowley and Gates at the White House.
"Because this has been ratcheting up and I helped contribute to ratcheting it up, I want to make clear that in my choice of words I unfortunately gave an impression that I was maligning the Cambridge Police Department or Sgt. Crowley specifically and I could have calibrated those words differently."
"My sense is you've got two good people in a circumstance in which neither of them were able to resolve it the way the wanted to resolve it," Obama added."

Beautiful. A tap dance that will likely make the situation worse. He could've at least substituted should for could.
Never calibrated any words before, but next time my wife is mad at me for fishing too much, I'm danged sure gonna try it.
Only reason he appologized for it, is he is being called on the carpet. Still he But, I'll take it.
I have a major problem with this Black President getting involved. He could have just said no comment and that the system will work....instead he throws a sucker punch. This puts more power in the minds of blacks and supports disrespect to police officers by blacks and Latinos. Of course he stopped short on an apology but jumps in with both feet to support a black man.
I agree. Had no business getting involved in the first place, especially since as he admitted, he did not have all of the facts. Skin color plays no role here. Basically tells anyone that they can get in a cops face. Cops have tough enough jobs as it is. Certainly don't need the pres making things any more difficult.
Reading some of the other news reports, they had a few more comments by Crowely on the phone call. Seems that he was satisfied. Thats what matters.

Me either. Must be something you learn in them fancy schools, right after the cyferin and goesintas
As a side affect of the whole deal, he probably lost some ground on the health care plan. He originally went before the press to make his case, make some stupid comments that were unrelated, and now thats about all anyone is talking about. Probably going to sting him more than he realizes.

I wish you were right about skin color but IMO that is an unfortunate issue here, always has been when a black person is involved. Forget about whats right and wrong because you get to play the black card (white guilt)....if your black.I agree.
