i have always been pleased with berkley trilene xl but as of lately it seems this stuff isnt working or lasting as long as it used to.
what others brands of mono is everyone else using that is holding up and performing well???
Thanks for any tips/sugestions
Berkley Big Game works for me.
P-line works for me. Several different products to suit your fishing needs.
I have always had very good success with Stren Flourescent Blue and P-Line CCX. both maintain their limpness and strength, some memory problems but just string it behind the boat for few minutes and it clears that up...Tight Lines and keep fishin
I like original Stren and Suffix in the red box
BPS Excel for 15 years and no problems for me.
im using p-line also and aint had one issue with it yet.im very pleased with it.
I used Trilene Maxx this year in the past year I used P-line evelution and loved it, the Trilene Maxx seems to break off easier, and it doesn't turn to gold in the sunlight light berkley vanish. I will be going back to P-line. I found the bp line nicked easy.
I like Trilene XL and Trilene XT depending on my gear. I have had no problems at all. Tried P-line but it seems to break easier.
As many have said, I too use Stren. That said, Stren is also made by the same company that makes Trileen, I believe.
BTW, I also have Spiderwire for my CRing.
One thing I like about the spiderwire is that is so pliant, yet very strong. I truly believe that the reason such light weight line works is that it allows for better movement of the bait. That is why I prefer Stren's 10 lb. test line as my line of choice.
No, not sponsored at all by them... LMAO
HDF
i have had problems with berkley trilene xl this year and a buddy of mine had 4 break offs in the river yesterday and i had two im stickin with sufix for now
Gamma 12lb Clear Blue, great all around line. I've always used a Palomar knot, but started recently tieing a Double Eugene Bend and it seems to hold better than my old faithful palomar. Good luck...
