What do you walleye guys use when you troll for the walleyes? I have had poor results fishing for them. I just got back from the Boundry Waters, and it is easy up there with leeches, but here I find Monroe to be really tough. From what I have gathered most of the walleyes are caught on the dam side of the causeway. Any help will be really appreciated. Thanks.
Ah.....the BDUB........I'm headed up there tomorrow. What do you walleye guys use when you troll for the walleyes? I have had poor results fishing for them. I guess there are NO walleye fisherman here any more.
I don't have have a LOT of info on walleye there, but I have a couple areas that have been good......Here you go:
* Troll Crankbaits............Deep Divers, across every point and the flats across from FairFax.
* Up by the Dam.....Kelly Point.....I've not personally done it but early and late in the year, I've heard of guys catching decent numbers on jigging spoons....
* Troll the Points From Butcher Branch and Baxter Branch out to the main lake.
* I bet during the spawning run you can HAMMER them in Salt Creek, where it comes in.........but I think that is a waterfowl resting area......I cannot remember.
This is from memory, and a google maps map, so I'm NOT exact on the details.
I will check my maps and respond back when I get back from the BDUB.
Later,
Geo
