Rod for Crank Baits

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I will check on the Shimano Crucial and the BPS. Another I was considering was a Kistler Magnesium TS Casting Rod. Anyone hear of that? I found that at Cabelas.

This rod and reel combination are going to be strictly dedicated to Crank baits.

You definitely can't go wrong with a Kistler rod. I have the 7'8" Kistler for deep cranking and love it.

I have mixed emotion on Kistler. The pressed buttcap on the Magnesium series has had some problems. I think the rod would perform fine.

Gloomis CBR, St Croix Avid, Shimano Crucial, Powel crankbait, Doybns are all brands I'd take over the Kistler unless it was on sell for less then $100. The Powell has better construction then the Kistler and can be delivered to your door for $140 at Tacklewarehouse.com
