What a bummer for him, runner up in the two biggest events in bass fishing in the same year. I wonder whether he considers it a great accomplishment or a great let down. The margin for both events combined is 14 oz.
oops! double post....Peter, please delete this post pad.![]()

Ahhh....I see it was the F.W Cup. That does stink for him.... 3 oz loss to Hackney!!!!!!!!!!
Glad to see Hackney pull it out. Couldn't happen to a better person.
Only makes it that much better to beat Ike.

It is interesting that the two BASS guys that were in this event of which both qualified through the stren series, finished 1, 2. Does this say anything about the competition, or is it just a coincidence?
I do not know if there were any other BASS guys in the event, but I am sure it is not the outcome FLW would have chosen. I am sure they would of rather seen one of the FLW guys pull through.
I don't think it was coincidence or the BASS guys are better. Both Hackney and Ike have been there before and fished the classic in 2005 so they have the experience. I am sure that FLW didn't like the way it turned out too. They had already taken steps to prevent people from cherry picking a certain event on the FLW tour. I'd bet they will do that for the rest next year. For the life of me I couldn't figure out why Hackney didn't buy a Ranger and register for the Ranger Cup program before the tournament. Coulda double his winning. I couldn't believe they let Ike wear his Toyota shirt and hat on stage day 1&2.It is interesting that the two BASS guys that were in this event of which both qualified through the stren series, finished 1, 2.
