I would totally disregard what someone mentioned earlier in the thread..........there are BIG bass in Herrington. THEY ARE IN THERE FOR SURE! It's just a matter of knowing when and where to fish the lake at certain times during the year. My partner and I run the KY-11 Division of USA Bassin on Herrington and we fish several of the Open tournaments as well (out of Pandora), and Coffey's Cove. In our circuit alone, numerous 3s, 4s, and 5lbers were weighed in -- along with some 6s, 7s, and 8s in other tournaments outside our circuit. Last year, there was a 10lber caught in Herrington.

The guys catching the bigger fish know where there are -- they don't just stumble upon them by accident (that's why certain individuals and teams excel in the tourneys).

There are plenty of smaller fish in Herrington, but there is also an abundance of keeper 12" fish -- along with some toads. Don't ever let anyone tell you there aren't big bass in Herrington........they just don't fish the lake at its seasonal prime or they're not making the correct presentations.

As for catfish, I only catch em by accident when bass fishing. Good luck.
