    I don't think it's actually "legal" to fish there. You're trespassing on pvt land, if you're on the grounds of either apt complex that is next to that backwater area ... and you're on city property, if you're on the sidewalk between Squires and the water. There used to be a "No Fishing" sign, but it probably got torn down by people that wanted to fish there.
    I live at Cove Lake Apts ... and I do know that people fish there, but I dare say I've never heard of anything being caught from there that was big enough to consider worthy of the risk. You'd probably catch more and bigger fish from Jacobson Reservoir ... and you'd be perfectly legal, to boot. I'm just sayin ...............

    I have caught many good sized bass at Jacobson over the years. At one time they installed a net to section of a cove for the June fishing derby and after the event they took the net down to release the fish into the remainder of the lake. Thats when it got good...
