won a tourny 3 weeks ago and got second last sat in the big fish tournament
thanks for your response. congrats on your win
I don't bass fish but I was out there for most of the day on Saturday. Put in at Brown's Ford and went up the river as far as i could go before a log jam stopped me. Lots of shad fry where the river narrows down.
Took out and put in at State Park. Went to first cove on left of peter creek, where the fishing dock is. More shad fry swimming on top of the water, nothing busting them. Dad caught about a three pound largemouth fishing a bluegill on the bottom trying to catch a flathead. Bluegill was about three inches long. I would guess it was about 12-15 foot deep.
great post. Thanks
found water temps as high as 94 and low as 85
might have to start fishing with frozen popsicles !!!!!!
If you have a canoe or a jon boat and a sense for a fun adventure, you might want to try this at Barren River. The ACOE had a good idea for once. they have put a very small but accessable boat ramp by the kentucky 100 bridge on the true Barren River, not the lake, We went there a week ago for the first time mostly by accident. but there were tons of fish up in this part of the river. I won't say you will catch a record but you will catch fish with 3 of us fishing in less than 2 hours we boated close to 30 fish that were pan size and some nice small mouth to boot. a lot of channels and panfish lots of shade a few portages but nothing more than a few yards we found some holes around very large boulders in the river where the water was at least 8 feet or more so get into the shade and have some fun.
I agree, nothing more fun then floating fast water catching small mouth and rockbass. Problem is creeks and rivers don't always have as much access as the lakes.
hey hope ur on a big pile of fish!!!!!!!!
