Casting Elbow..Can this be REAL?

Thanks guys for all the information. Tell me more about this "elbow strap"....what's it called or how do I describe it to the sales clerk?

Going to see my doctor later this week for my annual physical and will have him take a look at my elbow as well.

They are tennis elbow bands. I also had it terrible & it took several monthys to heal. I wore a tennis elbow band & fished on. It hasn't bothered me in years. I litterally threw a rod out into the lake because my tendons were so inflamed that I had very little grip left. Doctor told me to get one & take it off only when going to bed at night & I did & am fully recovered for about 5 years now. I had it so bad I sold my new boat & thought I was done for good. Thankfully I was wrong. They 100% work.

Went to see my Doc this week. He says "Yes you have it...anytime you go from zero to 100, you are in for trouble" ...I now have an elbow brace.

yes it is real. I am a nurse and I suffer from it every year usually late summer to early winter. It is usually associated with tendinitis related to overexhertion of the tendons in your elbow. It can get so inflammed it will irritate the nerve in your elbow also and can cause shooting pain down your arm especially if you close your fist up tightly. Only treatment is anti inflammatory agents such as ibuprofen and rest. Unfortunately I get no rest due to constant work with my hands such as writing and favorite past time of fishing. Compression helps with mine while fishing. Take ace wrap and wrap you elbow firmly but not too tight. Alternate casting cranks and spinnerbaits with worm fishing and other slower techniques also helps with the pain and fish till it feels like it's gonna fall off

Most drugstores will have them with the ankle and knee braces. Will say something like "Elbow brace for tendonitis" or something similar. Generally costs around $15-$20.
