    Re: Floyds fork help please

I still use the old Charlie Brewer's Sliders when creek fishing and they seem to always produce, especially in murky water. I put a small rattle on them when the water is like coffee and it seems to help. The sections over by Miles Park are pretty decent but a lot of canoe traffic lately.

    Re: Floyds fork help please

    Places I've been (starting upstream):

At, I think its 362, past the women's prison in Oldham Co.--not much luck, but never spent much time there.
At Aiken Rd, past Long Run Park--a pretty good hole going upstream from the bridge but haven't waded it, went via canoe. Downstream looks ok, but for some reason, never really went that way.
Miles Park off Shelbyville Rd--looks ok, I've canoed from there, but I've not done too much fishing due to the canoe traffic.
In Fisherville, at the canoe take out--decent hole right there, ok upstream, not too much downstream.
Floyds Fork Park--I've seen plenty of signs of people fishing around there, but I've not had much luck. The bottom running through there is solid rock--not rocky, just solid flat rock. If you ever canoe from here, paddle for about a good hour before fishing. The holes get better down stream.
At Seatonville Rd--pretty good fishing both upstream and down. This is where I spend most of my time because its 10 mins from my house.
At Broad Run Rd--I've never fished from this spot due to lack of a place to park but I have waded to near this spot before and I'd like to fish it.
At Bardstown Rd--You can park at the quilt shop (I think that's what it is) next to the bridge and get down to the creek that way. I've done it once for a just a short time but it looked promising.

My go-to lure is a white curly tailed grub. I also sometimes like a Rebel Craw (I just don't like to lose them). I'm generally fishing for whatever's biting. I've caught smallmouth, large mouth, bluegill, rock bass, green sunfish, longear sunfish, sauger, white bass, buffalo, and I think a skipjack once. My biggest smallmouth has probably been about 16-18 inches. But I've had others get off that were pulling much harder than the ones I've landed did. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

I have alot of luck on Rebel crickethoppers and #2 Aglia gold blade inline spinners. I catch alot of KY and smallmouth bass out of there. 1 year I was able to land 4 five pound drum in 1 day. They were feeding aggressively and hammered my aglia. Not a pretty fish but they put up a great fight on an ultralite rod and reel! I usually fish Seatonville, Broad Run, and Bardstown road. good luck.

    Re: Floyds fork help please

I was out there both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, I waded from Seatonville upstream a little ways. I did ok. A few smallies, some redeyes, and a sauger. Biggest smallie went just over 12 inches.

On Sunday, I canoed from Floyds Fork Park to Seatonville. Even though I got a later start on the day, the fishing went a lot better. I caught a few largemouth in the 10-12 inch range. I caught a lot of smallmouth in that range as well. I caught one largemouth that went 14 inches. And I had a smallie that went easily over that, but lost it right at the boat side.

The water was flowing pretty good though and there were only a few spots that I had to get out and drag the canoe.
