    custom fiberglass work

A little different twist to biggy54s post...

I have a 23' skiff with the dual 30 gallon bait/fish tank options in the back. The tanks sit about 3-4 feet apart, have separate lids but are held up using the same platform. I'm looking for a way to combine these tanks into one giant tank. Essentially I'll need to cut the sides out that face each other and connect them with a water proof "tunnel." Given the tanks are made out of fiberglass I assume this will be the material I'll need to build the tunnel.

If anyone knows of someone who can help I'd appreciate it. I live in NKY and also frequent Lake Cumberland so anywhere close to those two areas would be best.

Incase you're wondering I'm looking for a way to safely hold/transport 50lb+ catfish when tournament fishing (using the existing tanks in my boat).

    Thanks

I live in bellevue ky. How about going to winnelson plumbing supply and getting a large pvc pipe and fittings to connect the two, possibly silicone the pipe in. Use a good grade of silicone I like the product called Nova flex. Im a contractor and use this product all of the time. Or break out some aluminum possibly a 16th thick weld a collor on one side, and slide it through to the next tank. Then fasten a collor to the other side and seal the collar some how. A and B epoxy, the type where they are like a heavy paste.

Thank's Bob for the reply but what I think he want's to do is make one large tank that will hold several very large catfish. The twin tanks at this time would have them curled around the tank. He now has a large stock tank from Tractor supply in the boat for this purpose, pumps aerators etc. There is a fiberglass pool factory up the road here in Albany that I will contact next week.
Just for the info these catfish tournaments are catch and release just like the Bass guy's the only difference is it may take over 200# to win.

I was originally thinking something along the lines of an aluminum tunnel but wasn't sure if it would make for a long lasting water tight seal to the glass. I know of some creative catfish tourney anglers who basically modified the entire front and/or back decks of bass/walley boats into a large holding tank so I switched my thinking to 100% fiberglass. Steve Douglas being one of them who posts here occasionally. Unfortunately Steve-O doesn't want/need any side work...lol.

    Re: custom fiberglass work

I have done fiberglass work in the past - it's not hard to work with. I'm disabled and unable to do a lot of manual labor, but I'd be glad to take a look at it and give you some suggestions and help as much as possible. I live in Newport. Send me a PM if you want to discuss it further.
