Major League Baseball.....only where Pete Rose cannot even be voted on!

I say put Vick in a cage with a couple of pit bulls and let them serve justice.
Are you implying that MLB would not allow him back? Baseball is as bad as any sport that has that kind of money flowing through it. I don't think you can compare Vick to Rose but money is money and thats all we are talking about here when it comes to sports.
These guys are held to such a low standard and once they do the time and tap dance asking for forgiveness they can come back.

I look at it like this, the NFL is a private business and they can hire and fire who they want. If they want Vick back, then that is their right.

Like I said he did his time so he should move on but man this guy (IMO) is gonna get in trouble again, maybe not with dogs but with fools.
IMO, Vick is as arrogant as they come and justice was not "served." What kind of justice did all the injured and abused dogs get, and what if your dog had been forced into the fight? From day one, the guy has surrounded himself with a bunch of hangers-on who are nothing more than thugs and gangsters. He may not have personally chosen each dog but you can bet your last dollar he knew about them and blessed every fight.

He grew up learning to abuse animals; his father set the example for him to follow. Good or bad, boys don't easily give up what their father has taught them. He gets a thrill out of blood sports; it doesn't matter if it's dogfights, rooster fights, or bullfighting.

I've not read or heard anywhere that he has even tried to modify his behavior; people assume that a trip through prison changed him. All he will do is go underground and continue his old ways. He is just an athletic version of Rodney King and will get into trouble again.

Children chose famous athletes as heroes and Vick is a bad example.

    Just my two-cents worth.

Are dogs supposed to get justice??

They're DOGS.......granted what he did was DISGUSTING, but come on........DOGS.

It cost him over 120 MILLION it fines, loss wages, etc, etc.....he has paid his dues.

Now, would I hire him........ NO.......

    Later,

That's what I think. If he's done what was required of him by law - jail time and fines - then if someone wants to hire him they should be able to.

You bring up an interesting perspective . I know that cock fighting is big here in Hardin county and there are many educated and wealthy people that support this. It is just a brutal and cruel as dog fighting. Could it be a personality trait in individuals that get a thrill from this. I have seen dogs occasionally fight in the neighborhood when they go into each others area and it is viscious. I think Vick got caught up with the fame and fortune and brought his less ethical friends along for the ride. I think they should let him play and he and his team will have to deal with any negative publicity that they come across. There are alot of people out there that think he didn't pay enough for his crime. He'll just have to deal with it. His maker will decide how much he should pay.

Vick (what little I know about him) sort of reminds me of Mike Tyson in a way...but then too, you gotta consider that I'm of the opinion that professional athletes are insanely over compensated in pay anyway.
