Beside the obvious fact of not being a safe thing to do, I believe that it would be an intusion onto the "personal" space of the owner of the tow vehicle and trailer. I don't want anybody being that close to my rig.

Along the thread I posted about the 20 year old girl that killed her friend.......I almost ran over a 20 something MORON at the gas station today.
I'd been fishing till noon, and had pulled in the gas station to fillup my truck and boat tank.
I filled them up, and was about to leave, put the truck in gear, and started rolling. AT that instant I looked in my rear view mirror and caught a glimpse of a kid screaming and hanging onto the front of my boat.
He was walking BETWEEN my tow vehicle and my BOAT..........talk about a a really FOOLISH thing to do.
I got out.....asked him if he was OK and then proceeded to RIP his BUTT for a couple minutes, about how STUPID that was......he just blew it off like it meant nothing.........but had I ran him over, and dragged him under my boat for a few hundred feet, I'd probably be in jail right now.......
THIS was the jist of my post about the girl and the ipod..........Kids today have NO idea about personal responsibility, or RISK, or whatever. I know my KIDS do, because I TAUGHT THEM.....but most don't.

Whew! No matter the irony I'm very happy for you that things didn't go more wrong. It also shows what experience can do for you....us middle aged folks understand the basics of driving and checking your mirrors often is one of the best habits to have!
When my girl was a toddler I had such a fear about backing into her or her friends or even their toys that I still check for toys or kids when backing up....
Just curious, was the young man wearing what looked to be either short britches or long shorts, either of which he had trouble keeping them up where they belong? Seems to me the one's who fit this description are the one's with no common sense. Glad no one was hurt and hopefully the young guy learned a lesson.
