Just wanted to let you know that the crappie are biting at Green River Lake. We fished Saturday and had a triple limit. We caught approximately 120 keepers and close to 200 total fish. We were fishing with David Jones at "Green River Crappie Trips". He is a great guy and definately knows where the crappie live. Give him a call, I'm sure you will have an enjoyable day.

How is a 120 a "triple limit"? Limit is 30 each. How many guys fished to catch 120 in one day? Not slamming, just don't know how you were legal with that many fish?
You are only allowed to keep 30 per person per day. (30 X 3 people in the boat = 90 fish). We caught and culled to reach the 90 we were allowed, I didn't say we kept all 120 keepers! We were fishing different types of cover( brush, stumps, etc.). My wife caught the largest fish of the day which was 16" long and weighed 1lb14oz.

why it is OK to use a group limit in a boat fishing, but in a dove field, each person has to have their own pile. You can have 31 crappie in a live well with 2 people in a boat and it is OK. You have 16 dove in a field with 2 persons and one is gonna get a ticket.
Going back to the GR crappie, how was the ratio of too small fish. Usually at GR it is about 10 throwbacks to each keeper. I hate that ratio.
If I'm not mistaken you are only allowed 60 crappie per boat no matter how many fisherman are fishing. That I believe is called the possession law.Can some one shed some light on this subjet?c
i could be wrong but i dont think thats how it works. i think everyone is allowed a limit. the possession limit is set for two days of fishing, but then again , i could be wrong on that also. not much help am i? the original poster said he was with a guide and had 90 keepers. that tells me that there was at least 3 people fishing allowing for 3 limits. i would hope that the guide he said they used would know how many fish they are allowed per person.
I assure you he was legal if he was fishing with MR Jones. I have never fished with him but do know alot who have. From what I hear he knows how to gettem on GRL.My catch ratio is the same as reported earlier, 10 to 1. Mr Jones knows alot more than I do because he is there every day and knows how to get it done.
Everyone in the boat gets their own limit.
The way the water patrol ,KDFW patrol's that lake I'd say they were within the regulations . I've been on that lake an been checked twice in the same day before . There a bit aggrevating in my opinion , but that's a great lake....
