Guy Carries AR-15 to Obama Protest......

Just because you CAN, doesn't make it a good idea.

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32457652...s-white_house/

Why, WHY on EARTH is this something you should do. It just gives more power to the gun control whackos out there.

I bet we get a "gun" control law out of this MORON's "right to bear arms".

AND quite FRANKLY, when stupid people do STOOPID stuff, I kinda agree.

    NO REASON for it.

While it seems like a stupid thing to do,by the same token the Secret Service didn't have a problem with it,he was outside the building,in a state where open carry is legal, and wasn't threatening Obama, just showing his right to do so,of course the Lefty Wacko Tree Huggers will run with it,but they'd find some reason to anyway.
Have you ever read about Kentucky's past,Politics and Guns went hand in hand until the later part of the !900's.I for one have no problem with a legal person toting artillary,it's the GangBangers and Dope Dealing brothers that shoot each other every night in the Cincinnati area.

I really don't have a problem with it either....for LEGAL, SANE people, but it will only take one WHACKO in the crowd of 100 who are NOT to cause an issue.

I BET that once this gets around, you "might" start seeing some serious WHACKO people show up........

Like I said.........we might get another "gun law" from this STUFF........just because you can, doesn't mean you SHOULD........

I read the article and I didn't see where anyone said the gun was loaded but when the statement from the gun control group was mentioned they said it was loaded....did I miss something?

I'm fine with doing things legally but using good judgement is just as important.

Re: Guy Carries AR-15 to Obama Protest......

I read the article...I didn't remember it saying anything about being loaded verses unloaded...I do know that just the thought of someone toting a gun to a town hall meeting sort of doesn't set well with me, just doesn't make me feel real comfortable, plus it truly has to be a distraction for the undercover guys.

I never looked at this situation from the standpoint that it will give the gun law advocates more fire power...that's not good either.

This is what I was talking about.

    Gun-control group: ‘This is craziness’
Paul Helmke, president of the Washington, D.C.-based Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, said people should not be allowed to bring guns to events where Obama is.
"To me, this is craziness," he said. "When you bring a loaded gun, particularly a loaded assault rifle, to any political event, but particularly to one where the president is appearing, you're just making the situation dangerous for everyone."

I don't have the exact quotes in front of me,but the story I read said a bunch of other people had holstered pistols on their hip too.The Secret Service Specialist that was interviewed said they had no problem with it because Obama was inside the arena building and they were not permited to bring guns inside.
I'll bet Obama was safer with those guys than if he took a late night stroll through Central Park.

Why would anyone think this guy did anything stupid. He did nothing illegal. Do you guys lock your gun safe and pretend you dont own a gun? In KY I can have my 357 mag on my side < loaded> while packing my AR-15 < loaded > down the street and the government cant do a dang thang about it. Why would anybody pretend otherwise? I thought you guys were republicans. You gonna say obama will take your weapons if you give a reason, or have I read your post wrong? I say kudos to that man and you should stand for what he did if you believe in the right to keep and bear arms, or keep and pretend you dont own one.

Call me stupid or whatever, but I don't even own a gun...I understand some of the lawsa but it sure seems weird that the guy would bring a dang assault rifle to one of those town hall meetings or any public even for that matter "just because he can". There's a lot of crazy people out there and judging from what I'm reading that's taking place at these town hall meetings it sounds to me like people are getting more and more crazier...it's kind of over the top to me actually. People can do all sorts of things "just because they can", but out of respect for others they usually do not.

Just remember that the people in North Korea,China, and many other communist, dictatorship countries don't own guns either. No country where the citizens were well armed has ever been overthrown as such either, and if you think our Govt couldn't or wouldn't do something like this then I'd have to say you are either too trusting or extremely naive.
