OK guys, I fish out of a 17 foot Lund boat on LC for stripers. These days, the sun seems to get the best of me, so. What kind of top would you guys suggest. Need something that let's me walk around underneath it. Bimmini, custom or other?
Thanks in advance for your advice/input..![]()

I got a great Biminie for about $250 about 8 rears ago (sunbrella)and it still looks brand new for my 17" sea nymph and it has literally thousands of miles on it. Make sure the hieght of the top plus the hight from the floor of boat to the top of gunnel equals something you can walk under--also your friends. I would fit it for a 6'3" person. Make sure the length does not interfere with handling rods in the verticle position in the front and back of boat. Figure the area you want covered and the height and match that to standard size.
Now if you want something for other than sun protection (and you won't believe the difference) and some rain protection--like an enclosure for winter you may have to go with a custom job or something else.
If you want to look into the brand I am talking about give me a call and I will dig it out.
or if you want to check out mine I'll be at cland this weekend fishing near indian or guffy in the mornings. If you want to take a look I can give you my cell munber.

I'd look at a T-top if you want to walk around the boat and not have to hand the rod off around the straps and supports.
Here is an example but I'm sure there are cheaper versions
