This is the correct office; I'm sorry for the delay in responding to your
question. You are correct in that the lake levels are dropped during the
winter to create more room for flood storage with the winter/early spring rains. You are also correct in that the amount each lake is dropped depends on the anticipated need for extra storage, which is less at Taylorsville than at other lakes that have a lower winter pool.
