All the TIME.
Watermelon RED are da BOMB...........use them at KY lake in the spring and fall.
I like to use the lightest I can get away with.........I've also broken off a few fish when trying to use light line, but man that is FUN.
I like the ZOOM shakey worms.

I don't think you ought to use them........ kidding, shakey head fishing is my favorite and if you don't think they catch good fish (of size) then peek at this:

Shakey head is a awesome technique. My favorite: straight tail finesse Roboworm in SXE Shad.
shakey heads work great around here...caught big smallies on them at Cumberland and lgm on them at Herrington to. watermelon candy is a good color to use also but the watermelon red works just as well.
When all else fails,shaky head![]()
They catch fish, and don't be afraid to use odd ball colors either.

awesome....i was just bored and curious, i had heard a little bit about them, so i thought id ask. i fish herrington and cumberland pretty regularly so ill def give it a shot and invest in some more varieties. im guessing just hop it like a jig? or swim it more like a worm? or both? any thoughts/ideas?
Keep tinkering with it till you figure out how they like it that particular day...my personal favorites are the net bait shaky worms.....but i also use zoom from time to time...just dont overfish the shaky head....let the bait do the work....if the fish are lethargic i dont think many people will argue that the shaky head is the best way to catch em
Try Spot remover jig heads....they make the worm stand up and really give it nice movement....1/8 oz. for calm/shallower applications, or 1/4 for windy or deeper apps! Any color will work as long as its green!!!!
what ever you do dont try a senko on a shaky head it wont work and i make floating senkos just for shaky heads. mine will stand up on any head. if anyone would like to try them ill send a few samples out just pm me your favorite color and size 4 or 5 inch and address.
I like the gambler giggy head with the strike king 3x finnesse worm in green pumpkin. If you find fish or are in a spot where you just know some fish are holding and nothing seems to make them wanna bite try the shakey head. Usually I try to work it on a semi-slack line with just the slightest shakin of the rod. Kind of like drop shotting. I try to keep the jighead in constant contact with the bottom just ever so slightly inching it along in the target area. A couple shakes, pause, couple more shakes, pause, next spot. Just what I've found works for me at a couple of the highly pressured lakes in my area
