    Re: Looking For Walleyes Nolin!!!!!

I fish nolin a lot for bass but this time of year while fishing for bass with crankbaits in the backs of deep creeks i almost always catch some walleye. I dont know why at this time of year they move to the backs of the creeks but they do. Last year caught 3 including 1 that was over 2 pds in the same spot in brier creek. I am not a walleye fisherman so thats about all the info i can give..good luck tracking down the eyes. Jc

    Re: Looking For Walleyes Nolin!!!!!

Finally someone else on here wanting to know about the walleye bite on Nolin. I couldnt find out much on here so I just called home and asked my dad to talk to his buddies and find out where they are at. The last post is right, seems odd that in hot weather they would go shallower but into creeks or river sounds right. I went a couple of weekends in a row to where Bacon Creek flows into Nolin Lake, 3-4 miles outside of Cub Run, and had decent luck but you got to get there early because every walleye fisherman and their brother from Bowling Green to Louisville goes there. I get there a couple hours before dark and go about 200 yards upstream from the ramp in the main river, not bacon creek, and look for a creek that flows in (what we all call the second riffle when the water is down). You can't miss it because a huge tree is down in the water just before you get to it. Where the creek flows in its 7-9 ft deep, set up with floating lights and jig night crawlers on fuzzy grubs or spoons. The lights will bring in thousands of shad and alot of stripe as well. There are a number of riffles above and below but this is where Ive been going lately. Not sure how the cool temps will affect it this weekend.
