Finally went to tville this past saturday and stunk it up. Had 1 keeper and 4 nubs. Bites were few and far between for me. went against my own theory and fished shallow thinking the cooler weather had them up close... WRONG! Went back to 20-30 ft deep to find them but not the quality I'm used to catching there. Hope this is not a trend there. Nobody I talked to had any keepers, a few had some squeelers like me, a few had none. It should really come to life in a few weeks.. I hope.
There were a TON of SMALL keepers caught there this morning in the Monday morning tourney, but 3.16 won it. We caught ours, just under 3 lbs, with only 40 minutes left and it was off the bank in about 10 to 15 foot of water. T-rigged baby brush, my favorite bait, around the trees. We only fished it for about 20 minutes and I had other hits but nothing spectacular. If you look at the recent results from the weekly events there it seems all the fish have been hovering around the 2 lber range, which is where most of the ones today were at, and it isn't taking much to win. It has been a REALLY tough few weeks there so don't feel lonely you actually had a "decent" day there....lol
