    Question Boat Seat Question

    Hi Folks,
I have a ten foot aluminum jon boat that I power with a 46lb trolling motor. Its no bass boat but its all I can afford right now.

I want to get seats for it since it hurts my back to sit on the aluminum bench all day.
    I was thinking about these...

Does anyone have any experience or suggestions?
    Thanks!

I have used something like that many times and it works greak. Check out your local wal-mart they usually carry what you need.

Those clamps do not work!!!!, first time you hit a bump or set a hook they will throw you in the bottom of the boat, I mounted mint to a wooden plank and used cargo straps to lock em' in to the aluminum bench. I'll go take a pic and post. But do secure them in a 10 ft. john so you don't fall in or out of the boat LOL!!!!

    Re: Boat Seat Question

Thanks man, you may have saved me some trouble there!

So I guess to clarify, the clamps are not secure enough and need to be fixed?

Other than the hard time securing the seat... is it comfortable?

    Thanks again!

    Re: Boat Seat Question

Yes, the jon is my secondary boat and I have two ruptured discs in my back. I am alot more comfortable in the leather seats vs. the aluminum bench seats. Got em' from Walmart, but no matter which you buy you need to secure them like I did, those little brackets are crap and will work loose. I put carriage round head bolts through the wood plank, (Round heads mounted under plank) and those cargo straps crank down tight! I weigh 284lbs and I can lay back and go to sleep.LOL...Whole lot safer. Hope this helps you out.
