No, I did not just ignore my house...LOL... sounds like it though, huh? We bought a house a bit back that needed all those things addressed. They work, but not properly. In fact the oven and stove insert are over 25 years old, and in the oven we have had to hang a thermometer, and constantly monitor any cooking we do, adjusting the heat. Sometimes 250 will get over 500 degrees, other times it is only 350 degrees. We really need to replace that one; lots of effort to just to bake a frozen pizza...LOL

So, am I bad person for taking advantage of this since I need new appliances?? I am interested in your opinions, but may not take your advice. I haven't yet decided, but I do feel a huge amount of my tax dollars should have been left for my own decision on how to spend them.

tight lines,

A bad person? No, but what gets me in any cash for clunkers plan is the people who would trade in vehicles that might not be able to pay. Could this be another Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae situation? How much money did we already give the automakers? Wasn't this clunker program funded again by us tax payers? That's what bothers me.

Wonder when they are gonna have a program to trade in the old 2 stroke outboards?
