There's a thirty acre lake there and I here it's got some nice bluegill/redear, has anyone here been there? I'm thinking about trying it out for panfish and I've never been there.

I have fished Buffalo Trace for about 13 yrs and yes it is jammed with HUGE redear and bluegill. There is only one problem with the lake. Like most other small bodies in the state it has been overgrown with grass the last 2 years. By overgrown I mean to the point that it completely choked the trolling motor on my 18' glass bass boat. My dad tried to go over there earlier this year and said that it was unfishable. On the plus side you may be able to get in before the grass takes over in time to get the gills and ears on the beds in the spring. It is also a good lake to kids or people just getting started in fishing as it is full of 10-14 bass that hit about anything you throw. Great lake to catch a bunch of fish and have fun; if you can beat the grass.
Thanks for the responses, I guess if I waited until mid October the grass may be diminishing. It sounds like a good lake though, I just wish the state would spend more money treating these weeds.
They treated the weeds 3 yrs ago and put too much chemical in and had a massive fish kill. They tried to treat the grass again this year but waited too late and the grass was allready fully established. They either do too much or not enough. I really enjoy fishing it when I can get on it, like I said it's a great place to go to just cathc some fish and have fun but also catch some bruiser gills and ears. If you go let me know how you do.
Has anyone been bass fishing here lately? Im going camping there this weekend and gunna fish the crap out of it.
Did you fish it??? Planning to camp upcoming weekend and want to get some fishing in too. Wondering how you did.
