I was talking with a doctor yesterday, and our discussion turned to health care and reform. He too, as many of us have been, is pretty much a diehard critic of the Obama and Democratic plan.
He had a great point, and thought I would share that.. he feels that the republicans are missing a great opportunity here... his take is...
"Republicans should say we will sign on to this bill, as long as the first ones to sign up are....
The President and his family
The Vice-President and his family
All of Congress and the Senate, and their families"
Now I am a registered repbulican, but my response is that this will never happen. The GOP is not really all that different from the Dems anymore. Both parties are fighting for control and bigger government.
I am sure others have suggested the above idea of our elected officials being the first ones on the new program. I am sure it has been mentioned and I just failed to read it.
I LOVE the idea, and I had heard it from other family members, but this was the first time I had heard it from someone outside my family.
What do you all think?? Would this make you feel better about the program??
Tight lines...
