    Ol' Ted Kicked the Bucket

    Good Morning, Guys:

Anyone remember what I wrote about Ted Kennedy on 8-20-09 in the thread "Guess Ol' Ted is finally down for the count?"

It went something like "watch for a news report in a few days, that Ted died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, that he would have his last cocktail, and that a news release of his obituary had already been written. He sent a letter to the Pope by Obama; and he also said that he wouldn't live until Labor Day."

Well, Ol' Ted is dead and the news report was released about two hours ago. I wonder if he planned for his funeral to be held on/about Labor Day.

I was wondering why you said that? What was your insight?

He wrote a letter to the governor last week seeking to change the law to fill his seat before a special election so the dems could have that vote counted for the health care bill. I took that as "he's on his last leg" . Mary Jo Kopeckni is finally being heard by him!

I sure would like to hear that conversation with St. Peter at the pearly gates. I am sure his politician skills will be put to the test.

I am pretty sure that he and OJ will try the same argument, but for some reason, I don't think it will work with St. Peter.

Ted worked most his life for the less fortunate. He made a remarkable contrubition to this country. You guys are going to slam him no matter what is said so have at it. I will say that not a one of you know for sure what happened in the car wreck that killed Mary Jo. Also if he did cause her death not a single one of you know if he has asked for forgiveness or received it. He is gonna face Jesus not Peter.

That's true we don't know. But I'm sure that if the law had that much evidence against me or you we would be still sitting in the gray bar hotel.

It's pretty obvious that he caused her death if he was driving the car; he admitted that he was. We may not know what happened IN the car wreck but we do know that Ted swam out and didn't even report the accident (?) until the next day. Mary Jo was pregnant when she died. There is just something not exactly right or legal about what he did and how he handled the accident.

"not a single one of you know if he has asked for forgiveness or received it." Who is your God? The Bible says He forgives all our sins." If he asked the true God for forgiveness for ALL his sins.........he received it. What good would it have done him to ask for forgiveness for Mary Jo Kopechne's death and leave a million other sins charged against him? Repentance for only one, while hanging onto a million more, won't get Ted or anyone else a place in Heaven.

One thing every single one of us does know; he knew he was dying and had plenty of time to repent and make things right between him and God. I hope he did.

Maybe the Kopeckni family will find solace in the fact that another individual that was beyond the reach of the long arm of the law is not around to commit the cowardly act that took their baby away from them. The world is better off without people that put themselves and their political ambitions ahead of something as sacred as a human life. I hope he has repented and the good lord has saved his soul.

Try adding 10 to 12 more emoticons, then surely it'll work.

True, non of us will ever know where his immortal soul will wind up. If I had to bet, I'd say his letter to the Pope had something about Ms. Kopechne in it. Perhaps he spent his life working for the less fortunate to atone for her death, or perhaps he was just an altruist at heart, or perhaps he was just another shiftless politician. Who knows?

Fact is he got himself out of the same car Ms. Kopechne and her unborn baby drowned in. Fact is he didn't call the Police for 6 hours. Fact is he got off scot free because of who he was, someone without the Kennedy name would've been prosecuted for involuntary manslaughter. Fact is it's wrong he's receiving the saint treatment with all his good deeds being broadcast and no mention of Mary Jo Kopechne.

Argue politics all you want, but those facts can't be changed.
