LOL! Not on me but the dog. Anyone encounter a flea problem this year on your pets and what kind of treatments did you do? Did it work? Thanks.
I used the flea shampoo from Wally world and the flea powder on the dog's bedding.
Wife used some Adam's brand shampoo and spray from wally world and sprinkled borax detergent on the carpet and then vacuumed it up. Haven't seen one since. All hale the wife.

There is a cheap remedy that was recommended to me by a chemist. He said that Dawn diswashing detergent is a good flea repellent; just don't get it into the dog's eyes because it stings like shampoo. Hartz Flea & Tick Shampoo is good to remove the fleas and can be bought at Walmart. Be sure and use warm water to bathe & rinse, follow directions on the bottle; you will see fleas in the tub. You also need to buy those little tubes of flea repellent that are applied to the back of the dog's neck. Be sure and buy the correct size for his weight. If you're willing to spring for something a little more pricey you can try Advantage for Dogs, ($150 for a six-pack, sorry... not beer). lol
There are pros and cons to using flea shampoo. It will last for a few days but there's a good chance he will get more. Something like Advantage lasts for 30 days, rain, shine, or baths. You need to treat the dog's bed with some type of flea repellent also to prevent reinfestation.
I had my stray cat neutered this week and told the Vet I needed something to get a few fleas off him. He used a small tube (about a dozen drops) of Advantage while the cat was under anesthesia. I picked up another tube when I paid the bill. JEEZE! That stuff cost me $15 per tube for an 8-pound cat with an attitude.
DJD, you should get your wife/girlfriend to rub some Frontline on the back of your neck lol!
Frontline works great.
Front line has worked for us. Mishka never has had a problem with fleas or ticks.

We've had a flea battle the past 2 years,we have alot of animals and it's expensive to Frontline all at once (5 dogs and 6 cats). You can use Dawn to give your pet a bath,it kills fleas, but dries the dogs skin out so you need to use oil or a conditioner also,Frontline works, but donot give a bath to the dog or cat for 2 days before or after you use it.
Borax powder will kill eggs and larva stage fleas in the carpet, but takes longer on adults.
Most flea bombs only kill adults, regular vacuuming and disposal in a tied garbage bag helps alot too.The best approach is a combination of all methods in close proximatey, because if you only treat the dog there are still fleas in the house or kennel, there are sprays made for outside use also.
I found an online pet supply that was cheaper for frontline than anywhere else, but don't have the link handy. The vet told me that if your dog has flea allergy (digs after a bite a bunch) Benadry in small daily doses will help.
Good Luck,
Glenn P.
Thanks for all the advice I think I will use the frontline and spray the yard. I picked up some hose spray stuff at wally world on the way home today.
I'm gonna get a flea treatment in the house asap by a professional service. I don't think I'll have a problem for long with that plan of attack.
The vet gave Maxx a steroid shot today to help with the scratchin and biting.
Probably would have been easier to make you wear a cone and gloves so you couldn't do that to him
Last dog used to have the same problems with fleas. They invented frontline between the time she died and I got Mishka. Have never had a problem when using the frontline. Its worth it!
