I usually have the best luck with a big, bulky trailer earlier in the year (before the end of May). After that, I have better luck with no trailer at night. I almost always start off with a trailer, and if that is not working I will take it off. Last year, I couldn't get a hit on a spinner bait with a trailer here after June at night. One night I was fishin a night tournament, and fished for hours with only one fish - using a various trailers. I finally took it off, and had a limit within the hour.
